Happy Birthday Baby!

Riker turned ONE-YEAR-OLD on the 30th!!!!! Wow. Where has the time gone? He has been such a joy to Daddy and I and we are SO thankful that God saw fit to bless us with this little guy (poopy diapers and all...). He won't have his one year check up till mid January, so I cannot bore you with all his stats as of yet. Lucky you.

What I will bore you with, though, is some other facts about my favorite little guy that only his Grandparents will really care about....

• Riker LOVES to read. He will hand me a book ( He has his favorites...), and then will sit and listen to the whole thing! No squirming, no leaving in the middle, no flipping pages, nothing. It's amazing and quite disconcerting really...
• He is now a skilled crawler and has begun to cruise around objects. As of this posting he is not yet confident enough to try standing on his own without holding on to something.
• He as two teeth. Thats it. Where are the others? I don't rightly know...
• He drools a lot.
• He has recently discovered that he can open cabinets and drawers and that there are lots of cool things in there to pull out.....
• His favorite bites are YoBaby Yogurt and All Natural Cheetos
• He wants to eat whatever I am eating!
• He can use a sippy cup on his own, but like to drink out of Mommy's water bottle...getting us both soaked in the process
• He can feed himself, but is not able to use a spoon to do more than fling his food yet...
• He is very very calm and relaxed. Hard to rile, hard to impress, hard to make laugh. He is very cautious and always watches everything.
• He loves to be held.
• He wears a size 4 wide shoe
• He only takes 2 baths a week and I only have to wash his clothes after they have been worn a couple times. He rarely gets himself dirty....
• Rikers bed time is 9pm
• He takes two naps everyday...11:00 am and 4:00 PM.
• He goes to nursery and does just fine!
• He understands the signs Mommy, Daddy, Ball, Please, Food, Drink, No, All-done and some others.
• He has started signing "please".
• He says Mama, Dada, and Baba
• He LOVES his daddy and makes a bee-line for him when he gets home!
• He prefers Baby Einstein for his viewing pleasure
• He does not have a blanket or stuffed animal for his lovey...instead, he prefers to cart around a remote control. He will fall asleep with the remote still tightly in his grasp. If we are near the TV he will appropriately hold the remote out towards the TV and push buttons- just like he sees Daddy do it!
• He can scribble and will put the appropriate end of the pen to the paper.
• Riker is VERY clear in his communications, not to mention opinionated...(Don't know where he would get that trait?)
• He doesn't have a part in his hair. He has a swirly area in the back and everything just comes forward. He has a ton and it is hard to style!
• Riker has had 3 haircuts and is in desperate need of a fourth. Mommy is delaying because she is cheap....
• He can go up and down the stairs. (starting practicing when we found him halfway up by himself one day... obviously the gate had been left open..)
• He loves to put his feet on everything. Books, objects, people, Mommy, food...
• Riker still LOVES to nurse. Im hoping to wean him of this bad habit :)-
