It FINALLY happened. It was a warm Texas day, March 21, 2009. The breeze was kicking up into a swirl of dust in the small town of Amherst. RJ was officially 14 months old, but still small for his age. We were visiting his Great Grandma and enjoying our leisurely weekend in this sleepy, old Texas town. Out of the corner of my eye I saw his G.G. take him by the hand to walk him through the kitchen, but then a funny thing happened. G.G. let go. Just like that. She dropped his chubby little hand and stepped away as if expecting him to just take off on his own. And he did. His little fist curled up into the air and he began to prance away like he new what he was about. His MeMa, Papa, and Mommy were all stunned! (but Mommy was not too stunned to whip out her handy little Flip and immediately film this precious moment for Daddy! How awesome was that!?! I did not tell anyone or show the videos until we were able to tell & show Daddy first!) What a great treat it was for his MeMa, Papa, and G.G. to all be there for such a great event. It worked out so perfect, I could not have planned it any better myself!
